Applying for Service and Deposits

An application for Membership for Inter-County Energy may be downloaded for completion. (Membership Application (pdf/ fillable version). Those receiving electrical service from Inter-County must pay a one-time, $50 membership fee. This application may be taken to either of Inter-County's offices, along with money for the membership fee. You can also submit the membership application by email to our Billing Department and the process of paying the membership fee will be provided upon receipt.  *Additional Deposit fee may be required* 

The bottom portion of the membership application is a Certificate of Deposit. Deposits are sometimes necessary to protect the cooperative's revenue and comply with applicable regulations. The deposit amount may be calculated using the member's average bill for the most recent 12-month period.  Deposits shall not exceed two-twelfth's (2/12) of the member's actual or estimated annual bill if bills are rendered monthly. 

Below is a step-by-step process to apply for electrical service.

  1. Complete Member Application (Membership Application pdf/ fillable version)
  2. Send Photo ID
  3. Complete Declaration of Domicile Form if this is your primary resident. 
  4. Date you would like the electric service to begin in your name. 
  5. Choose a Due Date from the following: 4th,12th,19th or 27th. 
  6. After completion, email to: Billing (All information must be received to complete your account registration)
  7. Once you have completed and emailed in, we will set up your account, run a soft credit check to see if you will have to pay a deposit. You will be required to pay a $50.00 Membership fee regardless of your credit. We will call you at the number on your application to provide an account number for your records and the amount of your deposit, if required. Instructions on how you can pay will be given at that time.

If you are a Commercial business and would like to apply for service, please complete our Membership Application for a Commercial Business and take it to one of Inter-County Energy's office where a deposit will be calculated. If this form is not signed in the presence of an Inter-County Energy employee, the applicant's signature along with any additional authorized parties shall be notarized.  

Inter-County Energy would like to give our member the opportunity to have our Member Handbook.  It contains a lot of information about your cooperative that can be useful as long as you are a member of Inter-County Energy.  Most of the information contained within this handbook can be found on our website or by calling our offices.
